Please consider how doctors would feel if a similar appointment were made to the medical board....please treat the AL SBOE with more respect as it is supposed to be a voice for our students and our educators. #educationvotes

Gov. Bentley, there is no shortage of qualified people in the state with extensive experience in education, who would have the best interest of Alabama's students and schools at heart. Mr. Brown's lack of experience and evident disdain for the public schools makes his appointment questionable, at best.

As a resident of Baldwin County, a father of three children in public schools, and an educator, I urge you to please remove Matthew Brown from the State Board of Education. He has no qualifications for the position, and has openly worked to defund public education in the state.
There are certainly many more qualified individuals who could serve in this post. It is an insult to those of us in South Alabama who value education to be represented by someone in such an important post who in both so totally unqualified for the position and who does not put the interests of the children as a priority
