Phones can be used as medical devices. Personally I use my phone daily to monitor my health and technically I’m still allowed to carry it, but I’m afraid to because teachers say you will be written up immediately if they see it.

I think phones help a lot with anxiety so people don’t feel as alone at lunch or in the hallways if the don’t have anyone to sit with or to walk with

Not fair to kids who want or need to contact people for emergency and/or medical reasons

I think that it’s not fair to all the students who use their phones responsibly that they are getting their privilege taken away too.

This was really well written and supports well that middle school students should be allowed cell phone use. I remember when I went to Pennfield, we were allowed them and problems never arose.

I completely agree with every statement made in the petition.

I’m gonna be in WEB next year and we were told that creating group chats and texting our 7th graders was a giant way to help them. They can’t just go back on there word (and it’s true that it would help) :(

Technology is rapidly changing and the school system needs to adapt to that. Phones also allow home contact to be easier or friend connection if one is sick. I think phones should at least be allowed during penntime and lunch but I agree with not being able to use them in class

This ban may have some logic but if it countinues than nobody in the school should have a phone, including teachers
