As a Past ABG, Past Master, and Past Potentate it is disappointing to see people be so narrow minded that they would not support the opportunity to grow Job's Daughters. Why would you not support the ability of a girl to join who has a direct connection with a current member of our masonic family? It is time for a change.

My personal thoughts are, though I am extreme on tradition and not allowing things to evolve themselves into extinction, I firmly believe that we need to consider opening the door to allowing any girl to be a part of JDI...the fairest in the land.
That being said, I also believe that a tradition MUST be upheld of having a Masonic sponsor.
I think a good way of settling this would be to make it a requirement, if a girls has no Masonic relation then she must obtain TWO Masonic sponsors "INDIVIDUALLY" and must be done through an interview process...to help avoid any one person from signing for every girl that comes through.
I think this is fair and will help maintain who becomes a member.
Not every girl is cut out to be a Jobs Daughter, but every girl deserves the opportunity to try!

We need this amendment. It is so sad that many Bethels have to close because of no members. I am a PHG and MM of Bethel #29 of Mound-Excelsior, which closed many many years ago.

If 6 adult votes can override 185 votes of the daughter's, why pretend they have a say at all? This is the girl's organization, the adults are there to guide and support, not take over. If we expect the girls to lead and govern themselves, we need to trust that they have a better understanding of what is needed to allow the organization to flourish.

If this organization truly is for the girls, we will listen to and carry out their wishes.

I know we talk about the tradition of how those who have heritage may join the order. But if there is a generation removed, or not direct blood, is that heritage really being used? Is a grandfather or uncle mentoring their Jobie granddaughter or niece? Are they coming to initiations, installations, etc to support those they gave heritage to? Sadly, the answer usually is no. I think that with a sponsor of a Majority Member or a Master Mason, with expectations given in advance, there will be a greater bond and more opportunity for mentorship and growth.

If this is truly the daughters organization then we need to let the daughters decide, the daughters approved it ,so should the Adults ,if not then the slow death of this organization will continue, especially in the U.S.

Honestly guys, I really do want this to pass, but Im not ready to give up my masonic family. Yea i do have people who would live to join, but don't have a mason. But soon i feel if we pass this amendents our organization would not bw the same. adults should let us be in charge of what we want. This is our organization, and if we want to be able to learn and make the most out of jobs daughters, we have to show them.

Please reconsider this amendment. The future of the Jobs Daughters is not one of exclusion, it is one of openness and acceptance. Masonry has greatly reduced in numbers and a lot of young ladies can be sponsored by good men.
Thank you.
