jobs daughters has been a huge part of my life for over 20 years. It would be great for other youth to be able to join and get what the order teaches.

This amendment change is necessary for the continued growth of JDI within the United States. Fraternalism is at a low point and young girls who want to join are denied this organization. Grants and other monies are denied this organization because of this policy. It is time for JDI to join the 21st Century and grow to meet the demands of our times. Without growth and change, there is only death. Failure to pass this amendment may be the death nell for this organization.

JDI is one of the few organizations that teach positive values, self-confidence and positive self-worth to young girls today. We owe it to the girls and young women of our world to make that opportunity available to them. As a retired teachers, I have seen too many young women choose the wrong path in life because of a lack of positive mentors. JDI has a unique opportunity right now to assist deserving young women and girls who would otherwise have nowhere else to turn.

I have seen Job's Daughters within the jurisdiction of Alberta struggle and start to fall. I haven't just seen it here I have seen it in California and Nevada both places I have visited throughout my DeMolay career. This order is important to the girls and it shouldn't be up to the advisers how the girls want to run their organization. If for some reason you think that this means that all ties will be cut with Freemasons that is wrong. It shows them the support that they have needed but haven't fully received and are in desperate need of it. I see it in DeMolay and Job's Daughter the one thing we are lacking is membership and if the advisers of the Job's Daughter order don't want to make it easier and succeed with a change to membership then it is on their shoulders to care for all the girls they abandoned.

PHQ, PMABJD, PGBHQ, Past Miss Int. Congenialtiy, PGG - AB, DORP. Times are changing, we need to change with the times, would you rather see the organization deteriorate so far the it beccomes non existent, or would you like to provide a future for more young ladies, who can use the lessons from our order to become our future leaders in business, politics, medicine etc...Come on people...we need to let the past go, and move into the future! If you truly care about this organization you will want it to still be here in 75 more years. If you are only concerned about your own egos and the present, then continue on this path, JDI will only exist another 10 years at best.....if we remain on this path. If you are concerned about the future of this organization, then you need to reconsider and allow for Masonic Sponsorship and move forward, and be forward in your thinking.

It's easy to say no when your jurisdiction is thriving. It's those of us who are struggling that really should be heard.

Not only are the numbers of our order dwindling, but so are those of the Masons/Eastern Star ect. With their own fewer numbers means fewer opportunities for their young ones to join. Also when our numbers grow, once into adulthood we become inspired to continue into the adult orders, it is a symbiotic relationship, that needs to open somewhere to allow for growth.

I firmly believe that a living MM and Master Mason can do more in the way of mentoring, supporting and encouraging a daughter in building a Masonic Heritage than a blood relative who passed on many years ago.
