If the students are held to the same standards as other sports.....it should be treated the same. Also it seems to me it would encourage students to try other sports and diversify

Water Polo is a very challenging and physical sport. This should be considered with the other sports toward three sport athletes. I would like to see basketball players play water polo in the fall of they are not in another fall sport. The conditioning would be great for them and their ball movement would be similar. Both sports could benefit.

My son loves Lacrosse like no other sport, it should be considered a third sport.

I knew that Water Polo and Lacrosse do not receive school funding nor qualify for reduced fees for low-income students, which limits which students can afford to play. But I did not realize that the students playing these sports do not receive recognition as 3 sport athletes! Clearly, these hard-working student athletes deserve full recognition for their efforts and accomplishments. I agree this policy needs to be updated so that these students are rewarded for their amazing achievements.

Lacrosse is a sport, just as cheerleading. There is no reason it shouldn't be recognized in the school.

Rediculous policy that holds these athletes to second class status.Change it now!

I appreciate the idea of having the standard assessment include Olympic sports in a 3-sport recognition.

However the decision is made here, faculty should line up by this student and encourage more positive engagement. This is an excellent and worthy effort.

My son has played lacrosse for 6 years and will be a freshman at Hilhi in the fall. He would love nothing more than for lacrosse to be recognized as a sport!

OSAA/Hillsboro needs to change their rules. More sports equals more opportunities for the kids.

If you have ever tried water polo, it's hard work. Every athlete works hard no matter what the sport and I think they should all be recognized.

Shawna Ashley has explained the situation very well. These water polo kids deserve more.
