I fully agree with this. It is very important to our kids to have longer times outside. Not only is it great for social skills. But it provides thier brains with the reset they need!

Please adopt this plan. Our children learn so much from play; social skills that can't be taught in the classroom, academic skills can be learned on the playground without kids even knowing that they are learning, brains function better with breaks and physical activity, and so many more reasons. Research is abundant, please do not ignore the results of that. Please do what is best for our children, what will help them to learn and grow to be responsible adults, and all that we are hoping to accomplish for our children. If you truly care about our students, both academically and functioning in life, you will vote to adopt this recess policy.

This is extremely important and as a parent of 2 elementary kids, I am always concerned when they tell me there was no recess.

As a Kindergarten teacher for over 30 years I believe implicitly that all children need unstructured outside activity time every day!

I have a boy i know how much better he would be if he had more recess and P.E. i bet you more kids would do better in school if they would be allow to use up some of that energy.

Kids need to be able to let off some steam during the day and recharge for coming classes. They are not adults that can go for hours.
