The recall effort has reached its ultimate conclusion with the announcement that our representative will be vacating her seat. This result confirms that public accountability remains a fundamental component of our political system. I appreciate the commitment shown by the 136 individuals who supported this initiative throughout the process.

Mary Landrieu, a U.S. Senator for the people of the State of Louisiana, has turned her back on the voice of the citizens of her state. We, The People, have voiced our choice concerning the issue of government health care. We told Mrs. Landrieu that we do not wish for her to vote for the bill, but to vote against it. She has not listened and instead has voted for it due to her receiving a $300mil grant for the State of Louisiana. We did not tell her to accept the grant in return for her vote, we told her to vote against it. She has failed to properly represent the Taxpaying citizens of the state of which she represents. We voted for her to represent us and she has failed us in return. Senators are voted into office for the representation of the people by the people. This is not how Mrs. Landrieu see's her job. She was not appointed, nor hired, but rather elected for a specific purpose and that is to obey the voice of the people. I, Joshua Webb, do hereby issue a petition for the immediate recall of Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, and for her to be removed as soon as possible from the senate seat which she now holds.

Updates

January 7, 2010

The feedback I have received from citizens across Louisiana confirms that many voters feel their concerns regarding healthcare legislation were ignored. I am currently documenting these accounts to ensure our position is presented clearly to the appropriate officials. Thank you for your continued resolve in this matter.

The momentum generated by this petition demonstrates a clear frustration with current representation. This progress confirms that many citizens remain committed to holding their elected officials accountable.

She sold us out for a kickback. Louisiana deserves better than someone who puts party over the people.

300 million to buy her vote and our future. Disgraceful.

RIDICULOUS. She completely ignored what we told her to do. Time for her to go.

About time someone did something about this. She hasnt listened to a single word from her constituents.
