Way too much expenditure all at once especially in a time of extreme inflation. This is not a judicious decision at all. Cheaper to build a new center from ground up. And include an affordable housing component and receive some city support in addition to a new pool and other amenities.

I have had a great concern about all these special assessments and how easy and quick they were put through. I've almost paid off 1, 2, and 3 and now I hear of 4 and 5 for next year. For $4 million, you could raze the Sivers center and rebuild a brand new one and probably do it cheaper. Because of special assessments, our property values have been stagnant and are a big negative to potential buyers. Who wants to buy a place that finances so much with special assessments. And finally, I am sick and tired of the Board blaming past boards and board members for everything that is wrong. I've lived here since May 1982, longer than 90% of you and I can tell you that past boards did a great job job of managing and maintaining and maintaining these complexes. I'm simply tired of the ease by which this Board seems to spend money, much of which is simply maintenance and not another "special project" that needs a special assessment. I think we need more accountants and financial planners on the Board and fewer interior design people. And it's also time that we start getting competitive bids when it comes to lobby upgrades and to rethink of the upgrades when there are more pressing issues. I can't believe how the ideology of the Board has changed over the years!

We need financial accountability and expertise in maintenance of the buildings. Proper evaluation is needed before engaging outside consultants, costing a lot of money for residents. Board members must be prequalified in their respective fields. Board members should have had prior experience in managing their own profitable businesses first. Their should be limitation on the amount of contracts that can be let out in a year. There should be supervisory control over the managing company's operation. The board members act like autocrats without a sense of fiducial responsibility. Spending a lot of money for non- essential services should be avoided at all cost. The board needs to overhauled for better performance and accountability to the residents.

If this matter goes to an attorney and my share is $1,000.00, I will pay $5,000.00 or more for 5 people.
