Seems like the delay is inexcusable but not clear what the situation is. Would be good for the petioners to provide more context for the audience.

The steps at Murray Avenue School need to be finish immediately...The current condition is a FIRE hazard and I worry that the school might be closed and students sent to other elementary schools...The busing would be an added expense.

It takes nine months to make a HUMAN BEING. Pull it together, Shaps and Board of Ed. Three years is ridiculous.

I support the petition and the stairs need to be fixed.

I understand that the BOE and its dedicated volunteer member are doing what they are told by their legal counsel to manage this process, however, There must be a way to progress this project within the boundaries of the law. These laws that are supposedly putting this project at a stand seem contrary to what they are there for, i.e. fairness. The contractor and the rules guiding hiring/removing contractors is being placed above an entire community and its children. We can do better. There must be a way to legally progress this project.

This has become ridiculous! Is there anybody actually managing this because it doesn't seem like it! The newspaper article I read barely shed any light on this debacle. What else are we not being told?!

These stairs must be completed before the new school years start. I cannot believe it has taken so long. It is an eyesore to the whole community and compromises the students' safety and education. It's not good enough.

The stairs project is a disgrace. It is a danger to our children, a waste of time, money and resources and is an eyesore for the community. Rebuilding the stairs needs to be a top district priority - a priority that should include finding people competent enough to get the job done!

The Board should be ashamed that the stairs are not done yet. If the Board is not willing to act, please let the parents get the job done.
