This building was a favourite of mine growing up in Sydenham, and it would be so very wrong to see it disappear, or incorrectly renovated. Please get on with the job of restoring this beautiful landmark.

It may be argued that Sydenham doesn't need another pub, given the closure of other local venues, but I believe that an historic pub such as The Greyhound deserves to be rebuilt to continue the heritage of the original.

There have clearly been some serious problems between the developer and Council here - the Greyhound, an 18th century pub that they permitted to be redeveloped still lies in ruins, unless the developers are bankrupt there is no excuse, Lewisham's councillors and others need to pull their fingers out and do something about it now!

Soon Sydenham will have no pubs. Don't let this one be the next.
Shameless cowboys. Do they have no sense of corporate responsibility?

We should be wary of any other development proposals as they are obviously merley in it for the money

It is a disgrace that Purelake have not completed this pub. It is now a horrible eye-sore. Shame on them.

I hate looking at this site every time I visit the high street. It must be addressed as soon as possible and cannot remain as an eyesore when it could be a real enhancement and place to enjoy for the residents of Sydenham.

A building with centuries of history in its foundations and which served for so long as a public space and meeting point for the community is now just an eyesore. I hope that the owners will read the comments posted here and become more conscious of the site's historical importance and social significance. they are responsible for far more than an acre or two of land. The Greyhound used to dominate Sydenham and a developer with both vision and an awareness of history could ensure that it does so again. i

It's so sad that the situation still hasn't been resolved after so long.

This is a disgrace. Sydenham was promised a new pub and it should have a new pub. It's time for Purelake to sort this mess out.
This has gone on too long. We want this pub back!
