Skate parks are great places for kids to be outdoors getting fresh air and exercise.

I was a student at RHAM high school when the skate park was opened. It was through grit, determination and a real world lesson in civics and government process that the student led skate park initiative got off the ground. Rather than using the insurance money for another purpose, this should be an opportunity to look at the space and find other uses for it. Perhaps hosting a remote control vehicle day or an outdoor art space could be in order. In a town where youth activities can be hard to come by an outlet like the skate park should not be shuttered.

The skatepark holds a very deep spot in the hearts of those whom helped to build it, maintain it, and enjoy it every day growing up and then bringing their kids there to enjoy it just the same. To see it go over such a disposable act would be extremely saddening.

Good, safe, ridable parks allow kids to have a good chance to stay out of trouble, off the streets and for many an escape from everyday troubles.

My son was instrumental in building this skatepark. He and his buddies spent many hours there, perfecting their skating and making long-lasting friendships. Please rebuild the skatepark so others can make the same memories...

I was in 7th grade when this park was built. Spent many summer days hanging out here. both my kids learned to skate here. Now that they are in middle and high school would be nice for them to see it freshened up or rebuilt. So maybe their kids will get to enjoy it.

Every time I was at the park with my daughter , or drive by it was being used.. So obviously kids enjoy it.. Otherwise they will be in the road or at local businesses

My friends and I have been coming from all over the state to ride this park for years. We love it and would hate to see it go. I bring my two kids with me now and we would all love to see it rebuilt so we could use it again. Thanks so much

My children 7, 9 and spouse 41 all enjoy the skate park. And we were very saddened the day we went to find a sign that said it was closed due to the fire. I have seen so many youth and adults enjoy this park and I believe it is/was the best skate park around nothing I have seen nearby is half as nice. I believe that the park should be brought back to its glory.

Every kid should have a place to be able to skate or ride. The blunt truth is, keeping kids in a skatepark keeps them away from the drug/alcohol lifestyle. Idk where I'd be if I didn't have a skatepark to go to everyday.

Outa all ct parks this is a top 3 for meany riders of all ages would be beyond a blessing to see this park in top shape. Meany people including my self drive over an hour just to ride it's well diverse flowing park for meany skill levels and All ages I love this place not only for it being the first place iv been able to land a backflip on my bmx bike but for all the good times me and my friends have had there and wish to continue
