Months ago, Mayor Lee and the Board of Supervisors told Sutter/CPMC it must address flaws in its plan for a new St. Luke's and a mega-hospital on Cathedral Hill.
In the coming weeks, you will receive a revised plan that claims to address
community concerns. We urge you to ensure that any project includes:
- A strong and sustainable St. Luke's, adequate charitable care, and fair prices as other non-profit hospitals have accomplished;
- Strong local hire commitments to create good jobs for San Francisco residents;
- Sufficient affordable housing to address neighborhood and workforce impacts;
- Necessary measures to increase transit use and alleviate traffic congestion.
We also urge you to demand that Sutter/CPMC settle industry-leading contracts with all of its unionized employees, including real transfer rights, and respect the rights of all its employees to join a union of their choice without employer interference.

Ridiculous how much they charge for basic care. Sutter needs to be held accountable.
what about the people who live here and rely on st lukes? so tired of big corps walking all over us.
Dont forget about the mission. That hospital is vital.
St Lukes serves our neighborhood and we cant just let them downsize it. Stop putting profits over people in SF.
We need jobs for local people here not just outsiders. Listen to the community for once!!
