The administration just confirmed the dress code policy is officially revised to reflect our proposals. Thank you for pushing this forward and staying focused on the end goal. Keep an eye on the handbook updates as we transition to this new standard.

Update: I am so happy to report that Principal Dailey was very receptive to meeting with a group of students regarding the dress code. He has always impressed me as a principal and continues to put developing relationships with the students as one of his top priorities.
We request a meeting with Gulf County high school principals to discuss reasonable dress code rules.

Instead of making these girls feel bad about their bodies. Why not start teaching the boys to not sexualize everything they wear. My daughter has LONG legs and all shorts are more than 5 inches above her knees. And as long as the butt is covered leggings should be fine.
I think it’s crazy that we’re not allowed to wear shorts to gym. it’s like 116 degrees in the gym with no AC. Plus, boys wear shorts daily to school but, there is nothing said to them. If your going to dress code, then dress code EVERYONE! Also, Principal Daily said he wants us to learn but why is he sending us home to change? We’re not learning ANYTHING.
Last year I got dress coded on the 1st day of school & had to wait 2 hours for my mom to leave work in Panama and bring me new pants..& literally it was not even a freaking cm from fingertips or the flash card thingy anyways like wtf¿ Something really needs to be done about this.. it makes us girls insecure about things we shouldn’t be insecure about!
It’s crazy how the school has to take time out of our 2nd period just to check what we’re wearing instead of actually teaching us what we need to know . Shows how much they care more about how we look then our education
This new dress code is getting ridiculous, especially for the girls. The gymnasium air conditioning is broken and the coaches won’t let us wear shorts unless they have leggings under them. The y’all girls are supposed to have to wear shirts 5 inches above their knee if they wear tight pants. I hate the new dress code and it’s gone way too far.
Dress code isn’t fair we should able to wear leggings with out worrying if our shirt is long enough and the jeans with holes the boys are the problem not us they shouldn’t look

Dressing appropriately for school is good for the students self worth. Just my opinion, but if you look like you are goin to the beach , or just rolled out of bed , your performance may reflect that kind of causal attitude.
