Reading week is important for students. It is a chance to 'catch up' on work and/or reading that's been given. However, it is more than important for non traditional learners & people with children who are trying to better themselves with an education and have their normal lives to fit in around university. It creates inequality, as they have to pay for extra childcare. The courses are already expensive. If we are paying so much, we deserve the chance to give it our all and if a reading week every term gives us more opportunity to do that isn't that to everyone's advantage? It's our University and it's our degree!
