Ridiculous & misogynistic.

That Readings (a bookstore I have purchased books from for decades) would treat a woman who has world tirelessly for decades for the rights of the most vulnerable women in our society is shameful.

Mark Rubbo has a responsibility to lead his employees. Instead, he is at the mercy of their grievances. Readings social media manager needs to be retrained and an apology issued to Ms Bindel. I

Outrageous and silly to no platform a strong and courageous feminist three years after the event!

All this 'inclusivity' is a huge threat to diversity. To cancel a well respected lesbian feminist writer in retrospect is not only ridiculous but tantamount to book burning. Is that going to be the next step?! Since when have bookstores ever invested in the personal opinions, likes and dislikes of a few authors, or just the one? Readings, you should simply stick to selling books. Oh, and Julie Bindel deserves an apology from you.

Feminists shop at Readings too - or at least they used to (and might again if Readings apologise)

One of the things I appreciate about living in an alleged democracy is the FREEDOM for people - that includes biological women funnily enough - to write; to discuss; exchange ideas and views, even when they might disagree. I also value what the suffragettes, my forebears, and ALL sisters around the world have fought for - and against - for actual millennia. Those things that I value do NOT include Stalinist oppression; misogyny; abuse; bullying and silencing of women! Mark Rubbo would do well to remember the people who supported his stores, his staff, his family and lifestyle the most, over many, many years are BONA FIDE WOMEN! Rubbo and his business could show some appreciation for the women writers, from whom he benefits; the women customers, from whom he benefits; the stories of and about women's rights, lives, experiences and activism - from which he benefits, by acknowledging all biological women, and also by apologising to one great woman in particular - Julie Bindel - who has done more for women than Rubbo ever has, or ever will. In addition to a formal apology, a year's worth of Reading's profits should be donated to a genuine women's only support service ... of Julie's choosing.

This is like Stalin deleting people from photos.

Despicable misogynistic behaviour from Readings. They owe Julie and women generally an apology.

Hey Readings, on the strength of your retrospective cancelling of JB I bought a copy of her book The Pimping of Prostitution. Not from you, I went straight to her most excellent publisher Spinifex Press.

You owe Julie Bindel a direct apology, not something indirect and mealy mouthed to The Times or other news outlets. Do women's rights, our activism and feminist writer's free speech matter or not? Is it something you just dispatch with when it's politically inconvenient to the woke brigade? Julie deserves more respect than this for all she has done for women and girls.

So disappointing that such a great bookshop has done this. Won't be buying there again until there is an apology to Julie Bindel

As a Melbournian feminist who's been buying her books from Readings for decades, I won't be doing so anymore, certainly not until they issue an apology.
