I've always wondered why that was closed! Of course it should be open.

You can walk along the riverside path on the other side of the river then go up the steps to the prison.

Re-opening this path is a good idea. I never even knew this path existed.

I can't think of a reason not to re-open this footpath.

I can understand Arriva Trains Wales concerns, but this long time closed footpath could ease traffic flow into the town centre. I could walk or cycle in from my home in Belle Vue rather than park my car in the station car park for the day on my frequent rail trips out

The problems dropping passengers off is beyond a joke at peak times, anything to alleviate this must be investigated

This is a good idea giving easier access to the station for people living in Abbey Foregate and Belle Vue

Having lived previously in the north if the town and now the south I have noticed a stark difference in getting to the station, I like many others have to drive all the way through town now and then find parking. This could ease transport and encourage many people to walk or bike to Abbey Foregate.

This would ease conjestion around the busy junction at the train station. would benefit traffic flow through the town coming in via the English bridge, far more parking available, an asset to the abbey Foregate area would encourage people to use train with easier access

The scheme should also open the other paths closed by the developments on the old Gay Meadow site, including the one connecting Castle Walk with Abbey Foregate

This would be great if it were to materialise.

Walking through town to get to the station is a pain especially for those with mobility issues. With all the millions being wasted on traffic island upgrades and traffic lights in Shrewsbury surley a tiny portion could be put aside for this worthy project.

Absolutely right - and reinstate the footpath under the railway bridge (dotted green on the map) which is now closed off due to the gated development on the old gay meadow site. We were given assurance by Miles Kenny that this would be reinstated once the building work had been finished and is included in the Underdale, Monkmoor and Abbey Community Plan.

Because more accessible station means greater accessibility for all

Because more accessible station means greater accessibility for all
excellent for increased trade near the abbey.
