Considering most aestheticians already wear gloves and you are treated by one person and cleaning rooms has always been a part of the process between appointments, there is no reason they should not be open! Not one valid medical or scientific reason. If a liquor store can be open then so should an aesthetics salon. Not all of us drink out therapies!! I’m with you and I’m in Canada!!

Facial closure is arbitrary and discriminatory in Los Angeles County. Makeup artist are allowed to work on set applying makeup on bare faces. Yet a BBC license holder in a licensed sanitary establishment cannot. This is gross oversight and favoritism to the entertainment industry and powerful lobbyists. Let estheticians practice facials safely and reopen. Keeping individuals closed for nearly a year, with very little support from the local governments is not a solution. What is the point of learning how not to spread communicable diseases only to be told our industry isn’t responsible enough to prevent the spread? It’s clear the rules are designated for some and for those with powerful lobbying powers can create their own rules.

Please allow us to open fully and offer facials to our clientele. Our livelihood and our clients sanity depend on it. We as esthetician’s ensure strict sanitation and health guidelines when operating business. It is arbitrary and unfair to restrict our personal services business while other types of business are aloud to fully operate. Our lives and future depend on being fully operational within reasonable Covid guidelines that we have been following since the begging if this pandemic. We are not spreaders of this virus! It’s a fact! Please allow us to offer fiull services to our clientele.

Even prior to the pandemic, We have always provided a clean, highly sanitized, hygienic shop facility. We know we can do this with a zero in store transmission rate! We’ve done so in Dallas and New York! Why not LA?!
