Ostrow, Mary Ackenhusen and Dr. Patricia Daly, About the Rainier… Opened in 2009, The Rainier Hotel is a partnership between the PHS Community Services Society, the City of Vancouver, Vancouver Coastal Health, Provincial Health Services Authority, and The Ministry of Health. The Rainier is a treatment and recovery centre for women from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES) community that provides stabilization and treatment for substance dependency, mental health, and primary health care needs. The Rainier also offer diverse programming and extensive group and one on one counseling to ensure the healing and recovery needs of the whole person, mind, body and soul, are addressed.
