Ray Brown recently said."…We've put our hands up to say 'we have the capabilities, we have the capacities' and I'm confident the majority of our people have the compassion."

With Queensland's council elections due next March, Cr Brown said he was well aware he could pay a political price.

"That does not bother me. It doesn't bother me,well sir it bothers us . The lack of Employment opportunities already in the area .The infrastructure to support these people adapt to the Australian way of life. He has lied and used statistics from 2012 when the mining boom was still present in the area.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have come forward to say that their views are not being represented. I never imagined this would reach so many others who feel just as let down as I do. This momentum belongs entirely to the community that stepped up to speak the truth.

There is not enough medical help for the people here , how on earth do you expect the stretched to the limits personal even think about helping people that have PTSS with all they have had to go through ..

You don't wake up one day and become mayor, you were elected by the community, the locals. And now we cannot even be consulted on this massive decision! There are no jobs for locals, many have to seek work far away to put food on the table. Refugees, homeless people whatever, we seriously cannot accommodate 1500 people in our region.

I do not agree that we have the infrastructure to support such a large intake of refugees to the western downs area, a poor decision made by a Mayor that is out of touch with his electorate

The sheer number that you, Mr Brown, have pledged to take in is my problem. ..Our little towns are struggling !! We have businesses going down, hell west and crooked..do they get help ?? Charity begins at home Mr Brown...how about you help the people that voted you in !!!

The right thing to do would be to speak to the PEOPLE in person of the town's Chinchilla,Miles,Tara & Wondoan in regards 1500 Syrian Refugees

Chinchilla and surrounds areas are already struggling. Small business are closing down all over the place. There is no help from the Government local nor state lets be honest. To be honest the area does not have the infrastructure nor the resources to house this many people who are going to have so many issues mentally physically and financially.

It's about bloody time someone thought of this . people don't be so negative these people are only looking for a better life. If we were in their shoes what would do?

I really think that it is a great idea to place refugees in small communities instead of placing in the cities. But I am against all the religious people coming over here and trying to change the Australian way of living. This is our country and they should live by our life style.
