Musical heritage record seats? People might understand if they were carpets or stamps. Successive local councils have ripped the heart and soul out of Kidderminster town centre over many decades. Now, to add insult to injury, we are presented fait accompli with ludicrous seating. Some urban planner/designer somewhere is having a good laugh literally at the expense of residents. Get rid of those ridiculous seats, and get some proper seating installed, and more of it, for the elderly and disabled, and anyone else for that matter!

I can't believe there's even a petition for this; aren't there more important things to be concerned about? I happen to like them & also I believe they are part of a much wider project to celebrate Kidderminster's Musical Heritage & bring a bit of interest to the Town Centre. I don't see how they are a health & Safety issue & as far as having comfortable seating, there are plenty of other seats as well as the records of which there are only a few.. The Town Centre is in desperate need of something to attract people & shops to it, something maybe a bit different or quirky rather than boring functional wooden or concrete seating that requires little or no thought. The local authorities can't win, they're damned if they do & damned if they don't.. & no I don't work for WFDC.

Apart from the fact that they don't even look or feel like seats, they are dangerous!

We need normal comfortable seats in the Town Centre. Whoever dreamed up these eyesores should be sacked. What a waste of Council Tax.

So they're seats, I thought someone had been fly-tipping. They look awful, they're uncomfortably low and they are an accident waiting to happen.

Fully agree with petition comments. They are an accident waiting to happen, I hope the council has deep pockets!

The "seats" are not fit for purpose and pose a hazard to small children and those with sensory and mobility issues.
As for them being part of a "musical heritage" I thought Kidderminster was famous for it's carpet and weaving history , makes you wonder what was behind this designe being chosen.

I think the public should have been consulted before spending their money. The corners are an accident waiting to happen. Without an explanation they are meaningless. What is Kidderminster's musical heritage? They are the wrong design for sitting on. Why piles of so called records all the same randomly dumped? If we did that at home we'd put them away in a cupboard! Each sculpture should an individual. Something that reflects local work eg. carpets, glass, canals. Maybe something made in reflective stainless steel. Waste of money for an unattractive pile of eyesores
