Human nature has of course many issues. What's relevant in this connection is desire for money and lust for power - which are really, deeply the same thing. The second things is sadism, enjoying the suffering of others, both seeing it and inflicting it, and this is even more demonic. Both are spiritual things, and must be overcome spiritually.

A small point of correction .... slavery caused racism, not the other way. In earlier times nobody cared about race, and people of all races were enslaved when possible. The real problem is human nature, and it's not easy to correct, but we must do all we can.
