Rasmussen College to keep physical books as a part of all courses

I actually asked if I could get texts and I was told that it is considered a text book exchange, and it was too late. In addition no one knew how to actually obtain them anyway. Our e-books that are embedded in the course are really low quality. If you try to use the pdf files they don't work well on an e-reader. If we had high quality e-books in adobe pub files or kindle e-book files that would be another thing, because then I could read them on something other than a glaring computer screen between eight hours of work on a computer and then homework my eyes are really strained every day.

I can understand the school wanting to save money and paper by going to ebooks, but I cannot stand the ebooks, and if I have to pay for it either way, I think that I should be allowed to decide what I am paying for. If physical books are a little more expensive- so be it. Physical books are what I prefer.

I didn't mean to upvote this one. I find it easier to go to the back of a physical textbook to the glossary and index and find what I need to find. Much faster than an ebook and I don't have to charge anything when it gets a low battery.

We should have a choice of books

I like ebooks becasue i think it is better to use ebooks than regular books becasue if you use a ebook you can find the material that you are looking for.

I don't like ebooks because staring at computer for hours and hours at a time hurts my eyes. I personally would rather have a physical textbook to have and keep forever so that I can go back and reverence if I need to. I like being able to have my homework up on my computer and by textbook right next to it so that I can look over and flip some pages to go look for something that I need to look up. It is quicker for me. So please let us have the choice for each class of what type of book we want.

I also wish they weren't rentals only. I like keeping my textbooks for further reference. But, I guess, one battle at a time.

I don't mind eBooks but I wish we had the choice right off the bat. If anything, I like the fact that you have the choice now. I sit in front of a computer all day so giving my eyes a break is healthier than staring at a computer ALL day.

I personally do not like ebooks either. I would rather spend the money for physical books.

we should have an option

I can not access e-books. I have issues with my software and becasue of this I can not get e-books. I had one class last semester that I had to do the whole course with out a book. It was hard for me. I learn better by having a hard copy infront of me.

I am on the fence about returning for my bachelor's degree but if physical books are not an option, I'm afraid I won't be able to.

I agree that students should have the choice in what form of book they want.

We should be given the choice between ebooks and physical textbooks.

I perfer a physical book this allows me to get a break from the computer or study places computers are not possible to go.

Please keep the regular hard back books I believe the are easier to study by and better resources fro m the vhard back , I like the hard back better because it is easier ot refence when I need too.

i want a physical copy

I stare at a computer screen all day and half the night in the two jobs that I do and in school. I definitely do not want to read that way too. I prefer traditional textbooks over e-books any day. Please give us a choice!
