According to POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) of California, rape programs are available if an officer is interested but not mandatory. Please sign this petition to make it mandatory for all Police Officers to attend a rape seminar with in the first year of joining the force so this kind of event and ingornace won't happen again!

The momentum we have built proves that the LAPD can no longer hide behind their disgusting ignorance. They think they can dismiss survivors while ignoring basic human rights but this surge of support shows they are running out of excuses.

Absolutely disgusting behavior from the police. They are supposed to help victims not make it worse for them.
Fix this. No more excuses for laziness or bigotry while on the job.
Training should have been mandatory years ago. This is common sense.
seriously???? in 2016? cops need to be better educated on this stuff. total fail.
This is completely unacceptable. How can someone be an officer and so ignorant about such a serious crime?? Needs to change now.
