Dear Sir , we people from various parts of tamil nadu requesting you to make a memorial arch for Rajendira Chozha , a mighty emperor of Chozha dynasty , It is very well known about the chronicles of brave Rajendra Chozha, how he fought and conquered many regions, including the present south eastern countries, bringing them all under one empire. It is also known he went farthest into the northern region of the country till Ganges; returning back to form Gangaikondachozhapuram – the capital of Chozha dynasty. He then built a big palace in Utkottai, where there is a mound even now called Maalikai Medu. This site is now maintained & protected by Tamil Nadu Archeological Survey & all the things used in the palace by the Chozhas are preserved in the museum in Gangaikondachozhapuram. However, in the village Utkottai, there isn’t any testimonial for Rajendra Chozha, marking the importance of this place. Even the locals of the place tend to overlook its significance. In such a state, it is humbly requested to (as in appeal) to consider this petition to build this tribute with utmost importance, because such a man of gallantry, who added pride to our heritage, deserves an ARCH in his honor & a statue standing just as he did - as an inspiration; the least that could be done in the place where his mighty palace once stood, now almost forgotten. with Regards , on behalf of Natives of utkottai and People of TN , S.R.Jaes.
