I hate stereotypes. I hate the fact that I am expected to behave a certain way because of my sex, nationality, or beliefs. I hate how people think I should like sports because I am a male. I hate how people think I am good at math just because of my race. Stereotypes are a big problem in our society. They put labels about how a person should live or act based on their sex, race, of other features. Stereotypes can mentally affect someone. People are more likely to be more aggressive after they have faced prejudice. Stereotypes create a misconception of how people are and how they live in other cultures, religions, or countries. This misconception could cause problems such as discrimination. We as the new generation should do something to avoid this problem. So I am trying to petition for schools to get speakers to talk about their experiences with stereotypes.
