The Britannia Bridge was structural genius; Designed by Robert Stevenson, it towers over the beautiful yet perilous Menai Strait. Originally, the bridge was intended to only conduct the North Wales Coast railway to it's terminus in Holyhead. The lions were erected as momtumemts emphasise the majesty of the build. However when the fire of the 1970s destroyed Stevenson's revolutionary tubular bridge, the iron tubes were replaced by steel and concrete to form the current bridg

This would be great since moving to Angĺesey 18 years ago I have only ever seen them once never new they were there till a short time ago so looking out for them every time I go on the bridge now would be great to see them more often

The lions were obviously intended to be an integral part of the journey over the bridge. Since the A55 crossed the bridge, nobody sees them. Please make them an attraction again.

These lions are a part of the area's heritage and as such they should be available for people to see. They would be a great tourist attraction, and show off the admirable quality of stone masonry in its day. Having them out of sight and being vandalised is a travesty and would not be allowed elsewhere.

I used to love to see these lions on my way home to Beaumaris

Er gwybodaeth, pan oeddwn yn Brif Beiriannydd Pontydd yng Nghwynedd fe geisias wneud hyn yn niwedd y 1990s gyda grant Cronfa y Mileniwm gan y buasai’r bont yn 150 oed yn 2000. Network Rail neu Raitrack fel oeddent yr adeg hynny oedd y broblem fawr gan mai nhw oedd y perchnogion. Mae’r llewod yn pwyso 80 tunnell a wedi eu ffurfio o 8 darn fel jigsaw 3D. Hyd y gwn i does neb yn gwybod sut maent yn ffitio efo’i gilydd. Dwi’n meddwl fy mod wedi darllen yn rhywle eu bod yn’prototypes’ i’r llewod yn sgwar Trafalgar.

More people coming to see the lions means more people crossing the bridge which means more tourists which means more money coming into Anglesey. It's a no brainer; RAISE THE LIONS,

The donations are not listed in £'s. As it would take thousands, at least, where would the donations go if this petition fails?
