Hello! My name is Chastity Gaither. I have constructed an online petition in which allows for supporters to raise awareness of the community's desire to raise the drinking age to 25. I have hopes of raising the drinking age, due to the reason that it would potentially save thousands of lives. The brain is fully developed at the age of 25, in which further provides reason as to why the age should be raised. Many may have lost a loved one, who was involved in a under aged drinking accident. Therefore, some may be more supportive than others. However, I am certain that many also wish to save lives, and can potentially do so by signing below!

The increase in support has captured the attention of local policy analysts who have requested a formal meeting to discuss current brain development research. I am currently finalizing a dossier of these findings to present to the legislative committee next week.

I am in full agreement with this petition for numerous reasons. Not only does alcohol give those who become inebriated a false sense of security that they can function as normal, sober people do; this false sense of security is further exacerbated by young people below the age of 25. This is due to their youthful inexperience and immaturity that has not been tempered with the life experiences of older adults. I applaud a Chastity for taking a responsible stance through this petition!
Great idea young lady. I am currently 33, and my son died in an accident due to the reason that his friend was 21 drinking and driving . I miss him dearly! If only the age was raised to 25 !
I think you are totally right Chas. I agree with doing whatever it takes to save a person from dying in a car accident, because someone decided to drive under age while drinking .
I think the age should be raised because there have been so many love ones lost of "drinking and driving " underage . And 21 is not really grown enough to be drinking and every smoking anyways And this generation today thinks just because they get out of high school their "grown" and do "grownup" things.
I strongly agree to this status. We need to save people's lives and raise the drinking limit to 25 yrs old.
Do it now. Raise the age.

Thank you for doing this. My sister passed away in a terrible car accident because she thought she was sober enough to drive. Though she was 21, her judgement was clouded. I believe that had she been older, she would have thought the situation through, and I would still have my little sister to talk to. Please keep this going. Some awareness is better than none at all. Keep up the good work!
