Bringing the railway back to Cranleigh

This would be a good way of not having to get to Guildford in the early morning rush on our overcrowded roads.

I have signed this As I feel that it would Be fantastic to re open These railway lines This would certainly benefit The Public And would have more choice of Rail journeys.

The re-instatement of Guildford to Cranleigh Rail Link would be a good start to revealing road traffic.

with more and more cars on the roads we need more of these lines reopened,i would definatley use the train to guildford

The future benefits of all road users is to look to the past and open up these old rail lines

This would greatly reduce the amount of commuter car journeys to Guildford and to the London Mainline. It would also assist daytime journeys to Guildford

cranleigh station was closed more than 50 years ago by replacement bus and I seen heavy traffic on road from there to guildford is problem for buses!!!

Seems to me to be an obvious solution, nit only opening alternative north south capacity but helping reduce the lunatic traffic in and around Guildford and the surrounding towns and villages

This railway line should be re-opened NOW. The sheer volume of cars on the parallel road more than adequately makes the case.

The traffic growth on the A281 from Cranleigh and the surrounding roads towards Guildford is getting worse annually..With the many house building projects now planned in and around Cranleigh it`s only a matter of time before we reach gridlock !!! It is now the right time to rebuild part of the old Guildford Horsham line from Cranleigh towards Guildford.It would only require a simple 2 coach train single track that could run alongside the existing downslink bridleway.With the huge population explosion.People living much longer.And almost everyone wanting a car.The situation as it is cannot continue.

Open the line

Very familiar with this route. Think it has a strong case for reopening as a functional railway for local people.

With the prospect of Dunsfold becoming a small town this makes the case to reopen the line from Guildford to Horsham. Other wise a break down in the transport system

I want Guildford-Cranleigh-Horsham-Shoreham reopened as one through route with bypasses where necessary. A need to protect route is understood.

This line would assist in keeping road traffic down in an expanding area.

I believe the reopening of this line is long overdue. With the population increases and new housing this line would be of great benefit. It would also allow other journey opportunities for Horsham, and Guildford residents.

Please bring back this line into use. I do not have a car and cannot get to see my elderly mother who lives at Elmbridge

Bring back the railway!

I am sure the reopening of this line would help reduce the traffic on the southern approach to Guildford from Horsham. It would serve a large catchment area, with especially Bramley, Cranleigh and Ewhurst benifitting.

This line is certainly needed particularly if the Dunsfold development is given the green light

Living in Wonersh I would use this line weekly

Would be a very welcome link through to Guildford, would certainly use it rather than drive.

Anyone commuting into Guildford from the Horsham direction would absolutely welcome this proposal as alleviating the A281 jams and the Bramley bottleneck!

The more interconnectivity the better to relieve the roads and allow the railway to expand.

This line is needed lot of new homes in this area

Railway is the way forward for clean public transport and cut traffic into Guildford

I have family in Cranleigh who would use the railway if reinstated

Beechings remit was to make make British Railways ( as it was then ) pay, compleatly regardless of any social consequences in the 1960,s.As was shortly to be seen just three years after closure in 1965, Cranleigh started expanding with all the new housing, and all the road traffic problems through Cranleigh that it has brought.

Wherever a railway existed should have remained as a railway and be left to enable access to any designated place etc.

All lines should be accessible and not interfered. Putting them back should make a big difference by making travelling convenient. I hope it all goes along.

I sign because all railway lines should be restored and improve travelling services, that is if the government wants to reinstate the lines, but there could be doubt. Pity that all lines were cut including Crystal Palace High Level.

Now Dunsfold aerodrome is to be built on a revived rail link to Cranleigh is needed more than ever,the line to Guildford should never have been closed.
