The Petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the Houst that the establishment, implementation and management of the provision of water to South East Queensland has been mismanaged and taxpayers funds have been wasted and continuing to be wasted causing unnecessarily high charges for water provision.
Your petitioners therefore request the House to establish a Royal Commision into the establishment and running of the water grid, the establishment and running of the water commission and the prices and justification of those prices for water provision by the newly established water retailers.

The feedback I keep hearing from you about these water bills is exhausting and completely valid. I am spending my days chasing down officials for answers even when they hope I just go away. We are not stopping because the burden being placed on us is simply not sustainable.

Reaching this point has been an exhausting climb but seeing this level of momentum keeps me going. It is clear that I am not the only one frustrated by how our water management is being handled. I am staying the course because we deserve full accountability for these costs.

Finally someone is looking into these ridiculous bills. My water rates are higher than my electricity bills and it makes no sense.
About time. Too much money wasted on projects we didnt even need while they just hike the prices on us every single quarter. Fix it.

The price gouging is out of control. We need a full audit on where all that tax money went.
