MSNBC and NPR have long had virtually no black hosts, and MSNBC mainly uses black journalists (eg Eugene Robinson and Jonathan Capehart) to comment on purported racism in the tea party or among Obama opponents, never on foreign affairs, energy policy, monetary economics, etc. We do not expect either institution to provide a variety of opinion, but they should, given their pretensions, employ some non-white hosts and allow non-white guests to discuss something other than race.
