If this wasn't so absurd it would be laughable. This is just one example of why Honesdale borough is so financially distressed that they have resorted to issuing parking tickets on Saturdays. We need more individuals like Travis on the council to right this listing ship. In the meantime these 3 individuals, while not moving the borough forward, are providing an incentive to read the local paper! The Honesdale borough council meetings should be made into a reality tv series.

Rivera ran a campaign on downtown beautification and was on the ballot in the primary and general election, receiving sufficient votes to earn a place on the council... had one of the plantiffs not occupied two spots on the ballot. Instead of wasting time and resources infighting, let's focus on progress, like more flowerbeds, for downtown Honesdale and its positive impact on our surrounding townships.

Travis ran and hundreds of people voted for him, it would seem that he would represent the people of the community rather than a random person who is quoted saying she ran for the position “because she was bored”.

That's ridiculous, the good ole' boys are taking legal action because their good ole girl lost fairly, and now cannot support their special interests in this medium? Petty, pretentious and asinine.

Without any malice towards plaintiffs, it seems counter-productive and unfounded. Rivera is highly motivated to serve for the good of Honesdale. Can't see a good outcome in any way by this potentially expensive suit. Let's move forward and give Rivera the chance to do good, as it seems evident he's earned it. Hope the plaintiffs rescind their suit with grace in the interest of fairness and the town as a whole.
