I am currently drafting a formal letter to the administration outlining the case for postponing the ceremony rather than cancelling it entirely. This document will be delivered to the President's office by the end of the week to ensure our position is on the record during their internal deliberations.

We are approaching one hundred signatures which provides the threshold required to request a formal meeting with the university administration. I am currently drafting a letter to the Dean to ensure these signatures are presented as a direct request for a postponed ceremony. Please reschedule rather than cancel. With the amount of time, effort, and money money money that went in to attending and graduating from QU, every student at every level has earned their ceremony. Even if they are months and months later they need to happen! Thank you!
As an alumni of QU, the class of 2020 deserves this more than anyone. The feeling of being able to walk across that stage and wave to your loved ones as your walking across it is so memorable and they 100% deserve to have that feeling!!
DON'T MAKE A HASTY DECISION!!!! I'm a graduate student supposed to be walking in May and PLEASE I don't care if I get an email on May 8th when I'm supposed to be walking on the 9th. PLEASE don't make a decision this early.
Although I understand that these are uncharted waters, I believe that postponing would be a much better option. It can even be in the Fall, but they need a special day to celebrate with their fellow peers
Dear President Olian, My son Brian is a senior finance major. I appreciate all you have done to keep our kids safe. Please consider postponing graduation instead of cancelling it. It means so much to the kids and families. Thank you, Barbara Nelson
The class of 2020 is full of amazing young adults! So much money, so many tears, and so much hard work went into getting to this point. Do not rob them of this.
I’m a first generation American who has two patents that are blue collar workers. My one parent didn’t even graduate from middle school. Having them see me walk across that stage in my robe and receive this honor not only for me, but them, means everything. Please don’t take this memorable celebration and our hard work away from us. The hard work of my parents to help me pay for this education, and my own hard work to graduate early with honors.

My husband is a QU Law Student graduating in May. This has been a long journey for him and my family, he deserves to walk the stage at the commencement ceremonies. I hope they postpone for these hard working students.
