Dear Fellow Shareholders,

My name is Alicia Fernandez. I have lived in Building 2, Apt. 6C with my husband, Luis Herrera, since August 2003. My family has lived in the Astoria/Long Island City area since 1966 and were residents of the Ravenswood Houses for over 30 years.

I decided to run for the Queensview (QV) Board of Directors in 2016 because I was concerned about the long-term sustainability of our housing cooperative. In the seven years since, I have consistently worked to position QV favorably in the marketplace by reducing our liabilities, maximizing our resources, containing expenses, and increasing the value of our shares.

Due to these efforts, QV is in very good financial shape currently.

However, co-ops across NYC are facing a multitude of challenges including aging infrastructures, legally mandated capital projects, and ever-increasing operational costs including labor, taxes, utilities, and insurance. These competing priorities are taking a toll on our quality of life while threatening our community’s fiscal health.

I wish to continue helping QV remain financially stable while successfully addressing the aforementioned challenges.

Please sign this nominating petition so that I may secure a slot on the ballot.

Please list your full name and building/apt.

Thank you for your consideration.
