We need better transportation from Rockaway to Manhattan. We've been neglected by the MTA for as long as I can remember. I am happy to sign this petition.

This is a no -brainer. The only people who don't want this are the residents who have been using the right of way as there yard for decades. And of course the park advocates who don't live there . There is a beautiful park there Forrest Park !

Queens does not need more drivers! We are watching a borough grow up, lets have it grow up sustainably and healthily with smart/accessible public transportation that links intermodal forms of people moving. i.e. Bike to train to bike to birdwatching (Gateway)on foot to train to beach then bus to bike to get home!

Mass transportation via rail is an excellent and ONLY way to clear the roads of congestion and move mass amounts of people. Re-activate the Rockaway Beach branch of the LIRR and give the residents along the route a safer, reliable way to get where they need to go. The transportation deserts of New York City needs reliable rail transportation. Stimulate the economy and fill jobs by getting competent, trained and experienced people where they need to go.

The funds should be used to repair and add to the current mass transit system we have. The funds should not go to catering to a certain group of people and area. Not to mention the parking the city will lose.
