The transit authority formally approved the feasibility study for the Rockaway Beach Branch project this morning. We have reached our primary objective and will now shift our focus to monitoring the engineering and environmental review phases to ensure the project timeline remains on track.

This is an absolute no brainer. The ROW still exists. The Ozone Park and Woodhaven station would need rehab. Brooklyn Manor and Parkside would need to be replaced. White Pot is optional. It would take 30 minutes from Rockaway into the city.
I may no longer live in Woodhaven, but commuted to Manhattan for years. I would have killed for that train, over a schlep on the Q11. The traffic on Woodhaven Blvd. is out of control. Taking away lanes for SBS, along with the removal of stops is ridiculous.
I take the QM15 to and from work - I pay $13.00 a day for this and commute 3 hrs a day when I live 12 miles from Manhattan. Leaving work at 4:15 arrive home at 6:00 PM - Do something to shorten my commute and increase my quality of life
it takes 1hr40min to get to the city from Rockaway Beach. 4 hrs of wasting time to get to work amd back home. There are an issues w A train happens weekly and then It takes anywhere from 3 to 5 hrs to make it home. This is absolutely terrifying experience
Densely populated NYC does not need a park where a train link needs to be. We've waited long enough. The ongoing building of new housing in a barrier beach community needs to be offset by major transportation improvement.
Would love to see expansions to Eastern Queens too
We need transit equity and sustainable economic development in Queens. Get people out of cads and into low emissions, frequent, reliable, and affordable mass transit. Let’s extend the M train south to Rockaways on the Rockaway Beach Branch right of way, and create parks alongside it as much as possible.

Reactivating the rockaway line that parallels Woodhaven/Corssbay Blvd would encourage commuters to take the train and lessen congestion on this particular stretch of roadway, one of the major North South routes in queens.
