Climbing this and looking out where one lives or has travelled is one of the simplest joys and rights to life. Who could deny us or our children this?

It’s one of the most spectacular views at the summit and the walk is a journey in itself. It needs to be open for ALL to enjoy and appreciate.

The first time I climbed Mt Warning, I was 10 years old. Dad came over very early to pick up myself and my two sisters. They were ready and I was hiding in a cupboard I did not want to do it. They found me and guess what ! I made it to the top on the way down I was racing my sister just flying. Pretty funny I tripped on a root of a tree and just flew through the air and yeh got a few grazes. This is an awesome memory from my childhood. I would love to recreate this with my kids without the grazes

The Moun Warning climb is a local right of passage.
I climbed Mount Warning with each of my children and then again with their class mates on school excursions.
Tragic to deny anyone the joy of sunrise on the summit of Mount Warning!

Open it up but do tours with indigenous people as the tour guides. All the money made can go back into the park and the rest can go to wherever the local elders see fit.

Just let us enjoy the beauty of Wollumbin. I learnt heaps about the land as a child because of nature walks like Mt. Warning, getting up at night to get to the summit by sunrise, and the views after the climb itself is what inspired me to professionally snap and sell landscape photographs. It is very sad to see all of that education potential and interest for generations go to waste.

We need this open for all to enjoy its beauty, to support the town of Uki/Murwillumbah and Mt. Warning hotel. Charge an entry fee if you must to maintain the walking track. ❤

For the first 15 years of my life I grew up in Murwillumbah and climbed the mountain regularly with my family and friends. The mountain and the surrounds penetrated my soul and are a part of me to this very day. All Australians deserve to experience the spirit of the mountain and closing access to it will take the heart from the region.

Open this up for everyone to explore and stop shutting all these natural formations down. No-one owns them - black or white.
