Belongs to Everyone.
Custodians of other sacred mountains in NSW welcome hikers to experience their mountains. The WCG need to be investigated for member legitimacy of connection to Mt.Warning. And the mountain should also have received historical place status when declared an Aboriginal place in 2014 and had dual significance and access not determined by race or sex.

I oppose the closure of Mount Warning summit track to the general public. National Parks are for all Australians not just those with Indigenous history. Locking people out isn’t the answer. As a resident of the Tweed Shire I have climbed Mount Warning several times and was looking forward to sharing this experience with my children. This is now something that the will never likely experience. People visiting places of cultural significance can enhance acceptance and understanding. Managing numbers, infrastructure and safety can be challenging but shouldn’t just be put in the too hard basket.

It really important to allow all Australian people go and visiting people from overseas to be able to access this most beautiful mountain. I as an Australian born see this mountain view every day and think that all should be able to walk and enjoy the beautiful place.

I would love to see this beautiful place reopened. Let’s advance it by having some indigenous land carers there full time and bookings required for paid guided tours

Please open for all. Aborigines or not. We are all custodians of this earth. Just because others were born earlier doesn't mean they have more privileges.
People fighting over dirt, pointless. The land was here before us and will still be here when we are but memories and dust. Us mortals are only here for a short passage of time, how then can any of us claim to own it. The original indigenous people believed that no one owned the land and that they actually belonged to it. Now they fight over who rules and owns it. It’s not about the past and respecting the elders of a past time. Fighting over this land is about greed, money and power just the same as it was centuries ago in wars won and lost. If it wasn’t the Brits it would have been someone else and with them they brought modern conveniences that we all enjoy today no matter what your ancestry, shape, size, gender etc.......without the Europeans input this land might now be a third world country that never advanced. Instead of one of the greatest places on earth with the best medical system, education for everyone, freedom and the chance for every Australian to shine and be whatever they want to be with a little effort and hard work. What happened on this land centuries ago is not unique but others have united and moved forward whilst in this country we can not move forward united because some keep holding us back, making the innocent pay for mistakes made centuries ago whilst they have enjoyed a modern lifestyle with all the trimmings brought in by others. What is the point of fighting over a patch of dirt that will continue to be here when you are long gone? Set your sights on your own future and stop living in someone else’s past so we can move on united as one people.

The mountain was here way before any human and does not belong to anyone just because they drew on the rocks or danced there or died there. God made us and all creatures and this earth. Nothing was created by the creator for 1 certain group of humans. This is a majestic mountain created over millions of years to take the form it is. How can anyone own it just because they saw it first? Drew on it first? Lived near it first? Why?????

Open Wollumbin Mt Warning, it is closed under false pretences. The rightful custodians from the Ngaraakwal mob have been deliberately excluded from the Wollumbin Consultative Group yet the Bundjalung have been included even though they have no historical connection to Wollumbin. The National Land council Tribunal also acknowledged thete was no merit in the Bundjalung land title claim and dismissed the claim accordingly. One has to ask why NPWS are bowing to the wishes of one group whilst ignoring the wishes of the rightful custodians? What magical powers have been given to the WCG which the rest of Australia are not entitled to ? There needs to be an inquiry into how this situation has come about. It is obvious not because it's a Sacred place because NPWS are actively advertising the experience of being on a sacred mountain elsewhere in NSW on their Web site, if you are prepared to pay for it of course !

Such a beautiful and spiritual location should be available to all Australians (and visitors to Australia). In the rest of the world, people share spiritual locations with visitors, I wish Australian First Peoples could do this too.
