My great, great grandfather was the first white settlers and the first to build a farm in the area. The family, both Hatton and Tagget, were contributors to the society over many, many years. While I respect the indigenous people, two of my grandchildren have indigenous ancestry, I believe it would be a very sad state of affairs to restrict all the enjoyment of such a beautiful place. My personal opinion is that it is time we all live in the now, remembering the past and respecting that it cannot be changed.

Taking this too far now, you bumbling idiots. Soon there won’t be a peak to scale in this nation. Heads up; if I ever want to hike Mt Warning again, I simply will. Bunch of puppets.

First the horse trails I rode on decades ago, now beautiful mountains & bushwalking tracks. We are all human and for many people these outdoor walks on nature are spiritual regardless of their colour or culture. If a legislative decision is made to close off access, it divides Australia, which is not progressing & learning from the past the negatives of putting people in culture & colour categories. Going down this rabbit hole will only open the precedence for a continuance of closures, then what. Why are people of a particular colour & culture made to feel so unwelcome & unworthy these days, white people. Why is discrimination against white people ok? Generations to come no access to nature, all closed all sacred, back to cities, buildings, crowds, increased mental health issues, anger, frustration & the divided Australia becomes more divided !

Absolutely no one has the power to dictate what mountain the public can climb. This is all about control. If we draw the line in the sand here then they will close off everything beautiful.

Instead of closure, leave it open and let our next generation learn about its heritage. Clisurure cause resentment let us be one nation

I grew up walking this mountain and am so grateful to be apart of this nation, what a privilege to be able to walk this track again and in the future take my kids

Please reopen the Mt Warning hiking trail. This was a wonderful outdoor activity that my family have enjoyed for many years.

Climbing Mt Warning a few times gives me great memories of my childhood. I grew up in the Tweed and as a family we spent some great times together climbing and picnicking at Mt Warning. This is my heritage too.

It's undemocratic and a disgrace that the voice of a tiny minority (not even the Aboriginals of the area), have closed this. It's fundamentally dishonest for the NPWS to have used safety as an excuse for this. Not OK. Be honest.

I only climb once a year. It is a beautiful thing to do. Why do the Aboriginal people find this unacceptable? It is not a tourism gimmick and honestly you have given me a good reason to vote no in the referendum.
