About time you treat the greyhound fraternity fairly.
P.S. Where is the money & new track the industry was promised after the Parklands closure.

the truth in reference to the percentage of guilty participants who have been caught live baiting in comparison to the National total of greyhound participants needs to published and conveyed to Politicians and the Public. The Australian Greyhound Industry is being held to ransom by the Greens Party and we are being used as the 'Meat in the Sandwich" to attack Racing. The Australian Race Codes need to join and form a Political Party in each State and Federal. We only need a min. of 500 members to qualify for a Political Party to run in each State, check out the Electoral Commission website. The Racing Codes could easily form a Minority Political Party and Fight the Greens in Parliament.
I hope your Meeting goes well, plan what you need to say and stay on each point.
Regards.

sad to think our industry has come to this...who was it that kept the TAB coffers turning over when the
horse flu stopped the moving of ANY horse in Australia some years back.

Totally agree with Brenton's submission. Part of the reason i left Queensland was the lack of forward thinking from RQL in regards to the future of Greyhound racing in Qld. The governing body took tracks away and kept money from the sale of the teacks to prop up other codes and line their own pockets with pay rises and bonuses. Yet dangle a carrot infront of greyhound participants with the possible new stadium at Logan which never came to fruition and never was going to. Where has the 10 million dollars gone from the sale of the Gold coast track. Its gone into thoroughbred country tracks. Its time to disburse the 3 codes. Have a controlling body oversee the three codes and each industry fund their own codes.

I agree whole heartly with this and believe the 99% of greyhound participants have been neglected and unfairly treated in every state.
Our dogs are treated better than ourselves and any other racing animal sport in the world

Potential newcomer to industry confused by this governments lack of clarity for the future.
Because I wish to invest into this industry on a possible medium size commitment (purchasing acreage, setting up infrastructure etc) does this mean that I too will be part of your governments "widespread" baiting allegations.
Is your Government implying that as a possible newcomer to this great industry that I too will be tarred with the same brush as a very small minority.
There is always going to be a small minority of dishonesty and law breaking in general life.
Eg. Speeding, theft, murder to quote a few.
Does this mean that everybody in society goes about breaking the law?
Of course not.
Then WHY are we treated differently????
Please Explain

This is a cause we should all be passionate about. Governments from all States seem to be making the Greyhound Industry the butt of all racing codes to take the heat off the 'precious' thoroughbred industry.

I wholeheartedly endorse the comments in this petition. There has been too many ill informed, sensationalised comments made by militant animal activists.

Well done brenton, this needs to be shown to the general public as well to sway opinion back our way. Maybe print these out and get people to read and sign.. As not everyone has access to this online petition. Maybe full page ad in courier mail , chase , greyhound recorder, dogs website and NGF, I'm sure everyone would back you financially with that.. Thanks for spending your time and effort fighting for this industry..

We need the greyhound industry people in charge to stand up and stop taking the lies and direction from people who haven't got a clue.
