We the undersigned petition Worthing Borough Council not to sell or lease out the car park commonly known as Queen Street Car Park, in Broadwater. We want the car park to remain as a free car park, which is available for the whole of the local community to use 24 hours a day.

The Car Park has been recommended for sale in a reportdue to bevoted on by the Joint Strategic Committee on Tuesday 7th October and there is already potential interest from West Sussex County Council. We feel that if this car park is sold, some if not allthe current users of the car park, which include college students, local residents, local businesses andpeople using the church hall, will be prevented from using the facility. These cars will then be forced to try to find alternative parking in the local residential streets,which do not have sufficient spaces to meet such demand.
