Although I am not a graduate of QOP, my "little" sister is. I was, however, taught by the the Sinsinawa sisters at Visitation High School(Chicago). These are the same dedicated sisters that started QOP. I really hate to see yet another great Catholic school close. After all, this school gave thousands of girls a great path in life. Hope they can do something to remedy this.

Although I am not a QOP graduate, I have many family and friends, including my sister, who are. It would be very sad to see it close. I hope with enough support and effort, it can be saved.

Many of these girls, myself included, have already lost one high school, Mount Assisi. Its terrible knowing both my high schools will be closed. QOP made a very easy transition for me going from another small all girls high school. However, these girls will end up at larger co-ed schools or McCauley a large all-girls school with a much different environment. Please give these girls an option to stay and finish at their home, I would've loved to do the same. Thank you

This absolutely happens. Thank you for sharing. These are the things that we need to consider before ripping them from their home at QOP.

As a QOP alum I was very sad to hear that the school was closing. I wish I had been in a better position to donate money to help sooner. I have great concern for the girls at the school because I had a wonderful hs experience and feel that it has shaped my life even more than my college experience. My husband had an awful hs experience mostly because he switched schools after his freshman year. In his first school he was in all advanced classes. However after he switched he was not permitted to take more advanced classes because he had not taken the prerequisite at that specific school the year before. This adversely affect him in math, science and band. Essentially he ended up in classes that were below the level he had at the previous school. He also experience difficulties getting into some programs because it was easier for students to join their freshman year and students who had already been in the school a year got preference before him even though he was in the same class. By the time he was a senior he no longer cared and took the easiest classes just to get hs over with. I know this may not be a common experience but I fear that there will be girls who will fall into the same situation and will not get the education they deserve because they are not at the school where they started. I also know that QOP was much more affordable than other private hs and many may not be able to afford the transfer. I wish the school to stay open for many years but at the very least allow those who have started their hs career at QOP continue until 2020. These girls are worthy of a great education and meaningful hs experience.
Please-for the families that have been so loyal to this school and community.
