This is in relations to the final end of semester 2 summer PY349 Micro exam paper that was sat by fellow third year Mpharmacy students at the university of Brighton on the 5th of June 2014. Noticed by at least 90% of the year, the paper as a whole did not reflect the knowledge we attained and revised for in preparation of this exam. Further to this the questions appeared too specific and more focused around the content of the BP than the lecture material. The marking allocations to some questions were not justified as for some questions almost half the page was dedicated for a 1 or 2 mark questions. More over there have been multiple complaints regarding the wording of the questions and what the question actually expected from us. The themes were not adequately spread out in the paper in terms of questioning, if to put all the content in one paper is too much then maybe suggest splitting heavy weighted credit modules i.e PY352 exam into two that way at least the students know they will be examined on material they studied as part of the module descriptions and not solely based on "guided study" because again this makes the questioning either too broad or too specific. It was thought that each theme would he equally assessed bar the material that was examined in the lab exam. Further to this, with all the past papers provided we as a year don't feel as it made any difference to the practice of exam style questions because it didn't even reflect on the questions proposed on the paper. Over all the students feel as though they were not examined accordingly based on the knowledge covering the entire year, instead the paper was left too specific and with only a day gap between this exam and PY352 the students felt that even structuring their revision schedule for this exam deemed pointless. All that do agree and would like to raise this issue to the faculty of PABS please sign this petition to claim a justified resolution, Thanks for your time
