This is an example of how an email to the school board members could look. This is what I sent. Sending a polite email would be an effective way to get their attention without the irrelevant and irreverent comments I am seeing here ;)
Dear PWC School Board Chairman and Members:
Please consider extending the 2013 Winter Break from Dec. 23 - Jan. 1 to Dec. 23 - Jan. 3, 2014. It would make it a 'fresh start' on a Monday after the break, for both students and teachers. Many people travel over the holidays and it just seems this extension more 'naturally' fits into schedules. In fact, I had blocked off Thursday and Friday and automatically assumed they were part of the break...until I learned otherwise.
