Further, the board must conduct more due diligence on the impact this will have on the psychological and emotional well being of our children, as well as the financial health of the county.

I disagree with the PW C School Board rushing into this action for several reasons, least of which is that the Board and its legal advisers have not completed any adequate investigation into the legal implications of this action. Especially, when legally the subject is covered by the ".... on the basis of ... , sex, ...". This is a sex issue, whether implied or not. As such, even other states, Virginia counties, and the Federal government have NOT come to any decisions on this matter as yet. Those that have, are already facing legal challenges and other social actions, both for and against this type of action.
Therefore, I believe it is in the best interest of the PWC School Board to table this action for at least 1-year to allow for an investigation and rulings by the courts.

This change is premature. There are court cases nationally and in our state that will help define the authority. Also, there has been no research and we should not repeat the mistakes of Fairfax County. We need more information.

You also need to that confirm all districts are represented before a vote, which is my larger stance...push this vote out and make a 'complete' and informed decision--this is an excellent thing to pass-correctly.

I was so angry I sent the wrong response. I agree with the proposal to table to amendment to policy 060 until such time as the school board is prepared to investigate and all board members are present.

The legal rights of transgender individuals is currently moving toward a decision by the Supreme Court. I suggest waiting until the law and the accommodations to be made are more clear. I don't think it will be too long.
