I am a young South African, and I stand with many others who believe in the transformative vision of Arise SA. This political party has given us, the youth of our nation, a voice and an opportunity to lead and implement solutions for South Africa. It is more than just a party to us; it represents our hopes for a better future.

However, our democratic rights were threatened when Arise SA, was abruptly removed from the national ballot by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) on March 27th without formal notification. This action came as a shock, as Arise SA was listed on March 26th. The sudden removal left many supporters feeling marginalized and discouraged from participating in the 2024 SA elections.

The right to vote is fundamental in any democracy, and it is crucial that all parties are given fair representation so that citizens can choose who they believe will best represent their interests. The removal of Arise SA from the ballot infringes upon this right.

We call upon the IEC to rectify this situation by reinstating Arise SA on the national ballot for the May 29, 2024 elections. In doing so, they would be upholding democratic principles and ensuring that every citizen's voice counts.
