As a former Army Bandsman--3rd Army Band 1955-56--it makes no sense to me to intermingle bagpipers and their percussionists with a regular band. They should be separate, distinct units. For a very long time, the bagpipers have been a Citadel showcase and to mix them in with the band is to downgrade it and the band.

My dad (an alumni) agrees with me and the undersigned. Return the Pipe Band to it's original position at the front as one unit.

Tradition is something that quickly fades away. The Citadel is about tradition and history. Not sure if I want to send my kids there if it keeps acting like Berkley, in a subtle way.
