No one can deny the value, the unique sound and the esprit de corps the Citadel Pipe Band brings to the Corps of Cadets. Put them out front and center where they belong.

The separation of The Citadel Pipes and Drums as a unique unit follows the traditions of the great pipe and drum bands of military examples over many centuries. The Citadel Band is a proud follower of this tradition since their inception. The mix of the sound of the bands in its current amalgamation is at least cacophonous, and at best unpleasant. Please return this proud symbol of The Corps to its truly traditional at the head of the Long Gray Line.

Although respecting the new band director, the separation of the Pipes from the Band I've found both visually & musically appealing.
