The highlight of many Citadel events is the haunting sound of the Regimental Pipe and Drum Band. Having these musicians dispersed throughout the full band will certainly diminish this long-standing tradition. I urge those in charge to please reconsider.

Makes obvious sense to me that the pipes need to be separate from the rest of the band. I respectfully can't even imagine otherwise and am dismayed and frankly very sad to think that I will witness otherwise on my next trip to El Cid for parade in a few weeks. 1V9 parent

Poor move of someone's part to put the pipes and drums in with the regular band. They are distinctly different groups and they need to march and play as individual groups, not as a large one. Screws up the sound completely.

Class of 1969 Delta Company I do not understand the reason for the change. If it is not broken, why fix it?

Regimental Band '89 The current situation is a travesty. I support this petition completely. If LTC Smith, for some reason, feels compelled to continue on this disaterous course, the President should be compelled to terminate him.

Preserving tradition is the single most important goal at the Citadel. Please do not change things so the sake of change.

You cannot hear the Pipe Band when they are intermingled with the Band. Put them back in front where they belong!
