I would like to see the Regimental Band and Pipes go back to it's original formation. I saw a video of the integrated formation and think it looks terrible. There should be some distinction between the two groups.

As a member of the Class of '67, I was a drummer with The Citadel Pipe Band. Taking nothing away from the Regimental Band, which is outstanding, the unique aspect and history of the Pipes and Drums dictates that these two musical elements should be separate and that the tradition of the Pipes & Drums leading the band be maintained!!

I was a Piper for 4 years and front guide for the Band. The Pipes up front is a long standing tradition and should not be broken. VMI does it and I think it looks bad and reduces the impact of both the Pipe Band and the Regimental Band. Pipes & Drums up front is a tradition that should not be broken! DKF Class of 67

I cannot imagine any necessity, improvement or other reason that would result in the execrable decision to mix the renowned Citadel Pipe Band with the renowned Citadel Regimental Band. In 41 of teaching at The Citadel I praised the Citadel bands and Band Company, or the Regimental Band, in classes in response to any humorous or other criticism of Band Company or its members. I always said to cadets in class Band Company are the hardest working cadets on campus and provide more for the college than any cadet rifle company. Please do not ruin the traditional separation of the two bands. J. Rembert, T Co., 1961
