GEORGE SUTTON - a legendary driver in the rich history of the Speedrome. Sutton’s breakout year came in 1984 with a career first Pro Stock Figure 8 victory in a 50-lapper on June 9th. His next win on July 28, 1984 halted Wayne Arnold’s still record 11 Figure 8 race streak of checkered flags. George held off Wayne at the finish.
Other notable Figure 8 triumphs for George were his 1986 2nd Night before the 500 victory and wins in three different decades. Sutton has unfortunately passed away. But his last Figure 8 start came in the 2003 World Figure Championship 3-Hour Endurance Race where he finished an event career best 2nd place.
In addition to this George won countless other features and touched lives at and beyond the Speedrome. Please sign this petition if you would like to see George honored in the Speedrome Hall of Fame

George was a name everyone knew Nelso Stillwell helped keep his cars going George should be in that hall of fame!!
My Uncle George Sutton should have gotten this honor years ago. #speedromepolitics
You spend so much tume and money on these cars and from your families give them this back honor him.its called Respect! This place has served many fir years I am 62 years old and been a race fan since I was 15 years old but just remember the speedrome survuves because iddrivers like him. Thank you!
There was a time he was the only reason we went to Kitley. Great driver and even better person.
Not only was he an amazing driver. But he was also willing to help anyone in need. On or off the track. His integrity alone should have put him in the hall of fame many years ago.
He definitely deserves to be in the hall of fame!! He raced for many years out there!!He should of already been put in the hall of fame!
George Sutton should be endited into the speedrome hall of fame. He was a successful racer for many years and his family had a lot to do with Speedrome for many years as well.
